Secondary (7th -12th)
At John Adams Academy–El Dorado Hills, our secondary program inspires scholars through a classical, integrated curriculum rooted in the great books of the Western tradition. From literature and history to Latin, logic, math, and science, scholars engage with timeless ideas while developing strong character and leadership skills.
Outside the classroom, scholars grow through fine arts, athletics, leadership training, and service. With opportunities for theater, AP courses, dual credit, and a culminating Senior Capstone, our program shapes scholars into virtuous leaders prepared to serve their homes, communities, and country.
Arts
At John Adams Academy – El Dorado Hills the arts are essential to developing well-rounded servant leaders. Middle school scholars explore Art, Drama, Music (Band or Award-Winning Choir), and PE through our Exploratory Wheel, while high school scholars begin fulfilling their Visual & Performing Arts graduation credit in 9th grade.
Advanced courses in Band, Choir, Drama, and Art are available for scholars who wish to deepen their talents. Our premier choir, Cantoris, performs throughout the community and takes an annual trip, giving scholars the opportunity to grow through expression and service.
Athletics
At John Adams Academy, athletics build more than strength—they forge character.
Middle school scholars participate in PE and compete in a wide range of co-ed sports through the El Dorado County League. High school scholars compete in CIF league sports and can take PE or zero-period weight training as electives.
From the classroom to the court, our scholar-athletes grow as virtuous leaders, driven by discipline, teamwork, and a hunger to serve.
